The Streets of West Fresno now have a voice... The unflinching, uncompromising, Original Diamond Boy!
Cali is the product of an impaired home where the father is absent in the home and the mother is drawn out of the home. He ventures out into the streets of West Fresno to experience the relevance that he did not receive in his interaction with his mother. He finds guidance and discipline in hi Big Homie, Oso, who is killed, leaving Cali with the responsibility of nurturing and advancing his set, the Diamond Boys.
Cali draws on the principles of code of ethics taught to him by Big Oso, but the introduction of crack cocaine into the hood threatens the camaraderie of the Diamonds, forcing Cali to ban the sell of the destructive drug to save the hood from it's self destruction, all the while, advancing his hidden agenda to control West Fresno. Cali's ban on the sale of crack causes conflict, deception, disloyalty and a splitting of the hood.
There can only be one Diamond set, with one goal, and that is to restructure and establish the Diamond Boys as a legitimate organization that advances its interest within the political process. Anyone or anything that threatens this goal must be eliminated.
ENGAGING THE YOUTH CHANGING THE FUTURE!
This book, Bully's Behavior is written to young people in the hopes that they come to see that the violence that is committed against other youth, based on differences is wrong. The teasing that may seem harmless is really hurtful and in most cases, leads to violence. Some children who are more sensitive than others may even hurt themselves if they are bullied. Every child has the right to attend school and to learn in a safe environment, but bullies make our schools unsafe. This book seeks to illuminate the family dynamics which may lead to bullying and the need for non-violent conflict resolution. It points out that the future of our youth is very important, too important to waste time making another person's life hard by bullying them. It serves as encouragement to the youth to talk about bullying openly.
This book's motto is: Don't act like a fool, bullies are not cool.
This book, "I Love Myself" is written to address the trials and tribulations that young girls are faced with daily, in schools and in society.
Though it's not meant to be exhaustive, it touches on a wide range of topics in an attempt to inform and educate young girls about society's impositions upon their lives and self concepts.
My humble hopes are that this book can impart upon its readers, a sense of self worth, self awareness. I pray that this work will in some way help elevate the self concept of the young girls who read it, by making evident that our unique characteristics are not to be used to measure our worth or lack thereof; rather, they are merely distinctions that make evident our individual importance as a part of the collective whole.
I pray that mothers and fathers use this book as a teaching tool and that it enhances their interpersonal relationship with their daughters.

Engaging the Youth...Changing the Future ™
To the youth who study the lessons in this book... I want you to know that it is not my intention to preach to you. But I do want to make it clear to you that no matter how many Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) you have had and no matter where you may find yourself at this point, you can be successful. You don't have to give in to the violence and crime that you may see everyday in your community. No matter what your friends or family decide to do with their lives, you, as a thinking individual, must decide what is best for your life. You can achieve anything that your heart desires, but you must be willing to work hard by educating yourself and never giving up on your dreams. Love yourself so much that you refuse to let you fail and don't allow anyone else to cause you to fail.
ORIGINAL DIAMOND BOY - THE PSYCHOLOGY OF A GANG BANGEROriginal Diamond Boy: the Psychology of a Gang Banger - BY LE'TAXIONE AKA YOYO - is powerful, deeply troubling, and, ultimately, a story of redemption. When Le'Taxione, at age ten, picked up a .22 revolver that had been dropped during a drug-related shooting, he longed to use the pistol. Finally, in a "dimly lit parking lot" he found his opportunity and shot a man. Instead of sympathy or remorse he experienced a sense of liberation and thus began an addiction to violence that stayed with him throughout the rest of his childhood and much of his adult life.

A narrative of violent and brutal gang life in both the streets and prison, Original Diamond Boy is, paradoxically, also a story of healing. Human connections - relationships - are essential for recovery from the trauma caused by violence in the home, on the streets, or resulting from racism and oppression. Le'Taxione was nurtured by the relationships forged with other members of the Diamond Boys, and those relationships made possible his journey toward wholeness. This amazing, unforgettable book illuminates a path toward healing for our children: work to eradicate the violence of gang life, of racism and oppression, but treasure the gang and the relationships between its members.
